Welcome to
Heavitree Community Preschool

At Heavitree Community Preschool we provide quality care and education for children aged 2 years to 5 years old. Our professional staff create a safe and nurturing environment where learning and play come together, helping your child feel happy and protected at all times.  We welcome every child and family into our setting regardless of race, religion, culture, ability or gender.

Heavitree Community Preschool is a community run group - we are a registered charity and managed by a committee of parents as a not-for-profit organisation. We are based in purpose built accommodation adjacent to St Michael's Church of England Primary School in Heavitree and have long-standing relationships with St Michael's and other local primary schools.

A wonderful external space with slide, mud kitchen and a wide range of resources that change frequently to keep our minds and bodies active.

Our Curriculum

We encourage children to be inquisitive and curious learners, providing them with an exciting learning environment that inspires them to explore, expand their language and develop a positive sense of self. We have adopted Development Matters 2021 as the basis for our planning and learning. This allows us to design an effective early years curriculum, providing children with access to learning across the seven key areas of development in the Early Years Foundation Stage: Communication and Language, Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Physical Development, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design.
