                                                 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING NOTES

Heavitree Community Pre-School AGM Monday 4th November 2019 Summary

Last year review-
Replenished cooking utensils.
The garden has had a massive transformation over the last couple of years. We always involve the children where possible to teach them about growing and caring for the environment.
Our new learning pod that can be used for group work, speech and language activities and quiet times.
Successful transitions to schools this year.
World of Country life end of year trip.
Easter performance Goldilocks and the Three Bears.
Planning-
Child-initiated activities. We still do the planning,
Topic based themes throughout the year,
If anyone has any ideas to inspire us, we are always open to new suggestions.
Routine-
Timetable- We have a timetable for each day that we try to stick to, though often quite loosely. It helps the children to understand what to expect from the day, what comes next and when home time is etc. There is a visual picture timetable on the toilet door for the children to see and be shown if they are worried about anything to do with the routine.
Session times- please be punctual for start and end of session.
Lunch and snacks- We promote healthy eating in pre-school, and do have a strict NO NUTS policy as we have children with allergies in the setting.
Children’s belongings- Please label and name everything!
Please check your child tray regularly; this is where their creations go; as well as newsletters and information.
lost property box outside,
Keeping us updated- Please update us about things that are going on in the children’s lives
Alternative pickups- Please let us know if someone else is picking up your child
Toileting- We are always happy to support you in toilet training your children, but it needs to be parent led.
Early years Foundation Stage (EYFS) - The room is set up to follow all areas of the EYFS. We try to adapt to the children’s needs by making activities available inside and out and tailoring the activities to the children we have in on the day.
All children have a key person; this person should be the first point of contact for parents if you have questions,
ILP includes a report type page that you will get every term to show you how your child is progressing.
SENDCo- Lydia is the Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator.
Finance- George gave us a run down of the finances from this year.
Donations              £269.24
Fundraising           £1094.71
Cakes                   £ 66.70
Sponsored Walk   £1026.56
Graduation Fete   £68.15

We are a charity, so we do rely heavily on fundraising. This extra funding allows for new resources, subsidising the leaver’s trip in July and extra equipment.
Committee- Sarah Connors is the Chair of the committee; she introduced herself and introduced the concept of the committee. Sarah is standing down this year as her youngest child has now moved on to school
The committee is a legal requirement for the pre-school, so we need to maintain a committee with a minimum of 5 members.
Birthday treats- Please don not bring in sweets to hand out for birthdays due to allergy and dietary requirements.
Please Do Not Park on the driveway at any time.
Book bags are available from pre-school so that you can borrow books, activities and puzzles etc. We ask for £1 put into one of the donation pots and then you can use it like a library taking and bringing them back when you have finished with them.
We do have a website and a Facebook page. You do not have to have a Facebook account to look at our page, it is open to everyone.
